Hi, I’m David Fuentes.

Supporting people through life’s challenges has been at the heart of my work for over two decades.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked for 10 years as a qualified Youth Worker, supporting young people through issues like identity, mental health, and life transitions. I’ve also served as a pastor for 11 years, including seven years in church leadership, walking alongside individuals and communities through grief, change, and healing.
These experiences have shaped how I show up as a counsellor: with empathy, presence, and deep respect for each person’s story. They’ve taught me the importance of creating a space where people feel truly seen and heard — a space where it's safe to be honest, vulnerable, uncertain, or in progress.
At Fuentes Counselling, my goal is to offer just that: a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can bring all parts of yourself, without pressure or pretense.
I work with adults and young people, and I offer online counselling that is flexible and accessible. My approach is person-centred, meaning we focus on what matters to you, and I walk alongside you at your pace. I also draw on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support meaningful, practical change.
Whether you're navigating grief, anxiety, burnout, identity questions, or just trying to find your footing, you don’t have to do it alone. I would love to connect with you for a free 15-minute consultation so please click contact so I can connect with you. I look forward to meeting you.

My Approach
Supportive. Practical. Rooted in what matters most to you.
At Fuentes Counselling, my approach is grounded in the belief that each person is the expert of their own life. I’m here to support you with compassion and curiosity as you navigate whatever challenges you're facing — whether that’s grief, anxiety, burnout, or a search for clarity during a life transition.

My counselling style is person-centred, which means you set the pace and direction. I bring structure, insight, and evidence-based tools, but I always work collaboratively, adapting to what you need in the moment.

I draw from a blend of therapeutic approaches, including:

-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – to help you understand and shift patterns in your thinking and behaviour.
-
Solution-Focused Therapy – to support change by focusing on your strengths, goals, and what’s already working.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – to help you stay grounded, even in difficult emotions, and move toward a life guided by your values.

While I use these frameworks to inform our work, I believe that counselling is not one-size-fits-all. Each session is uniquely shaped around you — your story, your strengths, and what feels meaningful and helpful for your growth.
If you're considering counselling, I’d be glad to connect for a 15-. Whether you have questions or are ready to book a session, please get in touch by clicking the contact us button.
